Sorry it's been so long since I've posted. I want to post weekly, but we're getting to the part of summer that's super busy -- both locations are fully-planted and the canning needs for the Farmer's Market are in full swing.
But in the midst of all this, I've discovered a new weeding technique that has gotten amazing results for someone who needs to save time and energy. ME!!
I put garden fabric down like a checkerboard in our community college 20' x 40' plots, keeping the plants at least 3' apart. When the weeds grew under the fabric to create mounds, I just peeled back the fabric in short segments and used the stirrup hoe to get the weeds out, ideally on a hot sunny day when the ground is very dry. The video does a great job of showing the area to be weeded -- the before and after!
